Swimmers will normally be aged up to 11 or 12 and will have the opportunity to swim six and a half hours in any one week (see training times )The objectives at this level are to further develop training skills, stroke awareness, to provide emphasis on starts, turns and drills, to build up strokes to 200m. Swimmers in this squad will take part in the same competitions as Primary Squad plus League teams and Open Age Meets.
To progress to the Senior Squad swimmer must:
·Minimum age of 12 years
·Be committed to swim a minimum of preferably 4 sessions per week (3 at the discretion of the Senior Squad Coach)
·Be able to perform all four competitive strokes within ASA laws
·Be able to perform a competent turn on all 4 strokes
·Be able to perform a high standard competitive dive
·Be able to use the clock & work sets independently of constant supervision
·Be able to perform a set of 10 x 100m frontcrawl, swim & rest on 2 minutes
·Achieve Middlesex qualifying times from the previous year on any two events/strokes
·Have made themselves available to represent EPSC at open meets/club events
Edmonton Phoenix Swimming Club is affiliated to the Amateur Swimming Association. and as such is bound by its regulations, code of conduct and ethics.
